This indicator is proposed as an indicator for Sustainable Development Target 16.1 Significantly reduce all forms of violence and related death rates everywhere

Household surveys, including DHS that have been collecting data on this indicator in low- and middle-income countries since the late 1990s.
UNICEF. Fully comparable data is available for some 50 low- and middleincome countries.
Linkages: 16.2.2. The indicator also monitors other targets: 5.2 (women), 10.3 (hate crimes).
